Winged Lion is an exciting and dynamic new record label established by Paul McCreesh in partnership with Signum Records in 2010.
The label's recordings will include a wide breadth of repertoire and will feature many of the artists with whom McCreesh enjoys strong artistic partnerships, particularly the Gabrieli Consort & Players and partners in Wroclaw, Poland with whom he has established the Wratislavia Cantans Oratorio Series.
The first release in the Wratislavia Cantans Oratorio Series is a daring new recording of Berlioz's Grande Messe des Morts, recorded at the International Festival Wratislavia Cantans 2010 in Wroclaw, Poland. The recording features over 400 musicians, drawn from the Gabrieli Consort & Players, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Chetham's School of Music, tenor Robert Murray and Paul McCreesh.
Paul McCreesh has again assembled a vast international ensemble of over 400 artists, including leading British soloists Rosemary Joshua, Sarah Connolly, Robert Murray and Simon Keenlyside, to create the spectacular original performances of this great 19th century oratorio.
